Meet The Podiatrist

Stevan H. Orvitz
D.P.M.
A 4th-generation resident of St. Catharines. His paternal great-grandfather, originally from Berdichev, Russia, immigrated to Canada in 1905 with three brothers. Stevan's grandfather had a farmer's stall at The Downtown Market Square, and also drove a cab in St. Catharines for many years. His grandmother, Ida, lived around the corner from our current office for over 50 years at 6 Haynes Avenue (Now Fortis Restaurant parking lot). His father, Sid, after service in WWII, and employment in Toronto, Calgary and Miami, resettled here in 1960 with his wife Helen.
Stevan attended Captain John Decew and Oakridge Public Schools and Lady Churchill Junior High School and graduated as an Ontario Scholar from Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School in 1980. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, in 1983. He attended Podiatric Medical School in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated in 1987.
He interned with Dr. Louis Santangelo at the Norwegian American Hospital in Chicago for one year before returning to St. Catharines to open his practice in 1988 at 278 Bunting Road. He took a leave of absence in 1997 to perform a one-year surgical residency at Midway Hospital Medical Centre in West Los Angeles, California. In 1998, he resumed his practice in St. Catharines and relocated to our current office at 282 Welland Avenue in 2006.
